Kiba’s Decree To Himself

April 23, 2009

(This document serve as a goalpost eassy to force Kiba into doing something for his dream)
As it happens, my plan for the future change often, depending on whatever fancy I have at the moment. What seem to be a year dedicated to Space Fighter Ace is seemly whisked away to RubyTet project. This is largely [...]

Reader Mailbag #2

April 13, 2009

Dusted on My Reason For Everything.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Maybe this is a bit easier to say because I don’t live in the states, but, don’t worry about accomplishing anything, and don’t worry about freeloading on your parents.
Is it any accomplishment to get a job that you hate, then work to realize the dream [...]

Spring Break Hackathon Postmortem

April 12, 2009

With Saturday ending in disaster since I got found out by my father that I been coding late at night, this effectively end my experiment. Although I didn’t achieve what I originally intended, I did actually end up achieving the 28 hours work week. If it was has goes as planned, I would actually be [...]

Spring Break Hackathon Day Six

Thursday bring more development for RubyTet, and nothing else for the other projects, again. This time, I completed making the transition to the new algorithm and files based configuration of shapes.  Much of the old codebase has already been ripped out. That mean all the l.rb, o.rb, etc are pretty much empty files.
However, there’s also [...]

Spreak Break Hackathon Day Five

April 9, 2009

Wednesday was the most productive coding session ever for RubyTet. It was also a session devoid of Space Fighter Ace. I coded for 4 hours with agonizing slow progress. That’s mostly the fault of unit testings. I inevitably have to break some so that I can make the proper changes to the new code. This [...]

Spring Break Hackathon Day Four

April 8, 2009

So what did I do for Tuesday? I spent three hours hacking RubyTet. As for Space Fighter Ace, I must say that project didn’t go much anywhere. So RubyTet got most of the love. Even in the final hour, I still hack RubyTet until halfway to finishing my session. Then, I simply begin work on [...]

Spring Break Hackathon Day Three

April 7, 2009

Last night, I completed my 4 hours coding session after what seem like forever. There isn’t much to talk about either. Not even rbpong got updated. That day, I simply worked on my two main game projects, rubytet and space fighter ace. Both of which I incurred new challenges.
For Space Fighter Ace, I spent 3/4 [...]

A Free Software Business Model for Space Fighter Ace

April 7, 2009

I promised I’ll answer shawn42’s challenge in the first mailbag edition that I will explain and outline a business model for the future, usually involving free software or copyfree software. As it turned out, I acutally did this already for Space Fighter Ace, an upcoming online shoot-em up game. Unfortunately the business plan for the [...]

Spring Break Hackathon Day Two

April 6, 2009

This report is late, but better late than never. So I managed to accomplish yet another 4 hours of coding. This time, I spent most of the time between SpaceFighterAce and Rubytet, three hours. The last hours is fun coding time, during which I worked on updating rbpong and writing git-downloader. Still, coding has just [...]
